Governor Signing Vietnam Veterans' Day Bill

The Governor Signed the Vietnam Veterans' Day Bill in Madison in July of 2009. Plans were started immediately by TSIO to organize and host the first official Vietnam Veterans' Day event in Wisconsin. 

This event took place March 27, 2010.  The Actual Vietnam Veterans' Day is March 29th.

Highlights From Our 2010 Events

For several years Thuy's parents (Vietnamese mother, American Vietnam Veteran father) partnered with TSIO to put on an annual free meal for Vietnam Veterans at their Vietnamese restaurant in northern Wisconsin.

As years passed, the gathering led to a state bill, an annual event including a banquet and ceremony, to a community educational event with various displays of photos, poetry, art, and other memorabilia from both Veterans and their families.

TSIO's last event was March 2014. After 18 years, TSIO is no longer involved in Veteran issues.
